First Friday Concert Series Welcome Scott Thompson and Peachtree Station on June 6

May 30, 2008 - Rome, Ga. - Scott Thompson and Peachtree Station will be performing in Bridepoint Plaza on Friday, June 6 at 7:00 pm. Back by popular demand for the 3rd year in a row, Peachtree Station will help the series celebrate it's tenth anniversary.

"We are so honored to be asked back for a third year," said Thompson. "First Friday is absolutely one of our favorite gigs of the year. The crowd is always enthusiastic and you can't beat the summertime atmosphere in downtown Rome."

Peachtree Station will play a variety of music from rock to country, Buffet to soul as well as original songs off Scott Thompson's recent release "Meant To Be". CDs will be available for purchase during the show.

Concerts are free and go on rain or shine. Rain location is announced the day of the concert if needed. Bring a blanket or a lawnchair as bleacher seating is limited. Don't forget to pick up your tenth anniversary First Friday Concert Series special edition t-shirt for only $7!

Scott Thompson and Peachtree Station to Play Trilogy in Marietta on January 17

January 11, 2008 - Rome, Ga. - Scott Thompson and Peachtree Station will be performing at Trilogy in Marietta on Thursday, January 17. Trilogy features some of the most popular bands in the Southeast in an intimate setting. Thursdays are Ladies Night featuring drink specials and a free light hors d'oeuvres buffet from 5:30-7:30 pm.

"We are so excited to be performing at Trilogy," said Thompson. "It's a great place for an evening out to have dinner and drinks and hear some good live music. We hope to have people up dancing the night away!"

Trilogy is located in East Cobb on Davidson Rd., just off Lower Roswell Rd. and Johnson Ferry Rd. The location is behind the Parkaire Kroger, in the former Sparkles roller skating rink building.

Scott Thompson to Play Charity Event Oct. 6

September 27, 2007 - Rome, Ga. - Scott Thompson will be performing at State Mutual Stadium in Rome on Saturday, October 6 at a special concert in conjunction with the Rome N' Ride for the Children to benefit the Open Door Children's Home. He will join other guest artists including Kneckdown, Davey Smith and Mark Wills.

Open Door Home is a charitable and non-profit organization that provides a safe, warm and loving environment for the children of our community who have been neglected, abandoned and abused.

"This is a great opportunity to give back to the community," said Thompson. "We hope to see a lot of money raised for the children and this worthy cause."

CD Release Party Is Sold Out!

July 23 - Rome, Ga. - The much anticipated CD release party for Scott Thompson's new CD "Meant To Be" has sold out. With only 200 tickets available for this exclusive show, ticket sales were fast and furious.

"Tickets for the release party sold out quickly," said Thompson. "I've got a waiting list of people hoping to get a ticket, but I think those who have tickets will be holding on to them. We are really overwhelmed by the response."

Organizers are asking that only those who have tickets come to the party as space for people and parking is limited.

Those unable to get tickets can still see Thompson this week at Barnes & Noble in Rome, Ga. on Thursday, July 26 at 7pm. He'll be playing an acoustic set and signing CDs until 8pm. Fans can also hear Scott at The Prickly Pear in Rome on Friday, July 27 from 9pm until close.

CD Release Party Set for Saturday, July 28 at Proctor Farm

July 11 - Rome, Ga. - Scott Thompson and Peachtree Station will be playing an exclusive one night engagement at Proctor Farm, Saturday, July 28, to celebrate the release of Scott's new solo album, Meant To Be. The intimate setting and great acoustics will make this a show to remember.

"I've wanted to play at Proctor Farm from the first moment I stepped into the venue. The barn converted into a concert hall makes for great acoustics, an awesome atmosphere and a chance to get up close and personal with the audience," said Thompson. "I think this is going to be one of my favorite shows yet."

Tickets are limited to 200 and are going fast. The cost is $20 each. Food will be available for purchase (thanks to Pirkle's Deli for providing the food!) and you can bring your own alcoholic refreshment.

Peachtree Station Plays State Mutual Stadium

June 10 - Rome, Ga. - Scott Thompson and Peachtree Station played to an enthusiastic crowd at the popular Parrot Head Paradise Party at the Rome Braves game last night. Playing a mixture of Jimmy Buffett songs and southern rock, the band had the fans dancing in the aisles.

"It's wonderful to be able to play to the hometown crowd two weeks in a row," said Thompson. "We've been blessed with a very loyal fan base and we try to do a great show every time out."

Fans enjoyed an array of songs from Buffett to Van Morrison to Chris LeDoux, the usual eclectic variety of songs that has made Scott Thompson and Peachtree Station a fan favorite. The band's ability to play songs from many different genres attracts a wide range of people.

"We play something for everyone. If you don't like a song we're playing, you're sure to like the next one," said Thompson.

Scott Thompson Chosen for Battle of the Bands on South 107

June 8 - Rome, Ga. - A cut off of Scott Thompson's new CD has earned him a place in South 107 FM's Battle of the Band Contest. The song entitled Runnin' was submitted for the contest last week.

"I chose Runnin' off the new CD to enter in the contest because it is the best country song on the album," said Scott Thompson. "I'm honored to have been chosen. It would be great to have Runnin' added to the play list at South."

The winner will headline a concert at the House of Rock in Cartersville, Ga. and have their song added to the South 107 playlist. Scott will be featured on the morning show with Kevin and Kristin at 7am on Monday, June 11. Voting begins on Monday at South 107.com.

Scott Thompson & Peachtree Station pack Bridgepoint Plaza

June 2 - Rome, Ga. - Scott and Peachtree Station drew a record crowd to Bridgepoint Plaza for the First Friday concert last night.

"We had a good crowd last year even though the weather looked bad," said lead singer Scott Thompson. "But this year is just amazing. It's always fun to play for the hometown crowd. People stayed until late in the evening despite a small rain shower going through. They just kept on dancing!"

The crowd enjoyed a mix of rock, country, soul, pop and original tunes that will debut on Scott's upcoming CD "Meant to Be" which will be released in two weeks. The band has already been asked back for next year's First Friday concert series.

Scott Thompson joins Jim and Karli on Q102FM

May 31 - Rome, Ga. - Scott Thompson and Jeff Brewer joined Jim and Karli on Q102FM during the morning show to talk about the First Friday concert happening tomorrow night. Scott and Jeff played two songs live for the drive time audience off Scott's upcoming CD "Meant to Be".

"It was so great to be on with Jim and Karli and to play "Meant to Be" and "Carry Me" live on the radio," said Thompson. "To get that kind of exposure for a new album was just invaluable. I really appreciate the station's support of local artists and a special thanks to Jim and Karli for having us on."

New CD Set to be Released June 15th

May 23 - Rome, Ga. - Scott Thompson's new CD entitled "Meant to Be" is set for release on June 15th. The long awaited compilation of original songs showcases both Thompson's writing and singing talents.

"I'm so excited to have this album coming out," said Thompson. "I often play my original songs for my live audiences and have had many requests to make them available on CD. I was more than happy to comply!"

The album features 10 tracks running the gamut of Thompson's own musical tastes from country to soul to R&B. The title track, Meant to Be, has long been a fan favorite at Thompson's live shows, while the soulful ballad, Carry Me, is destined to become a hit.
