Scott Thompson forms beach and 60's soul band Bayside
First performance scheduled for July 30

June 30, 2010 - Rome, Ga. - Scott Thompson has formed a new band that will play predominantly beach and soul music. The band, Bayside, will perform its first show on July 30 on Marietta Square for the summer concert series. .

"Several of us in Peachtree Station really have a love and appreciation for some of the great soul music that came out of the 1960's," said Thompson. "So when we were approached by a promoter looking for soul band, it just seemed natural to put one together. We already knew of two great horn players that had played with us for an Elvis-themed concert we had done back in the winter. They were ready to jump on board with the project as well."

Bayside will perform songs by 60's favorites such as Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Curtis Mayfield and The Rascals.

"The music is really inspiring," said Thompson. "Don't be surprised to hear a lot of soul influence on my next album."
